Director & Teacher: Susan Latter D.M.A., C.D.T.A., L.B.A.T.D. PAA

 Sue has over 30 years teaching experience. She has owned and operated Sue’s Dance Centre in Newmarket for 25 years. She is a Lifetime Member of The British Association Of Teachers of Dance, Full Member of Dance Masters of America and The Canadian Dance Teachers Association, with provincial level gymnastics training. Sue has recently completed her Professional Adjudicators Alliance course. She has been an adjudicator and judge for the CDMA, choreographer for trade shows, musical productions, community events and theatre programs. Several of her previous students perform and teach internationally. Her students continue to receive top awards and overall judges’ choice achievement awards. Her goal as a dedicated and caring instructor is to pass on her knowledge and passion for dance, while creating self confidence and personal growth in her students lives. 

N. Serena Ali, BFA (Hons), RTS, RAD T.Dip, PAA

 Serena earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from York University, specializing in teaching and performance.  She also has extensive RAD teacher certification as well as BATD and ADAPT jazz training. Ms. Ali has also recently completed her Professional Adjudicators Alliance course. Ms. Ali has been teaching ballet, modern, jazz and tap across Canada since 1987. Many of her students have gone on to become successful dance professionals. Serena has wanted to be a dance teacher working with children since she was 12 years old.  She is really excited as working at Sue's is an enjoyable and rewarding experience.  She looks forward to another successful and enjoyable year at Sues! 

Adele Minor R.E.C.E., B.A.T.D

 Adele has been an educator in the field of dance for over 25 years. She excels in teaching dance technique to children of all ages and levels. Adele’s teaching capabilities are enhanced by her innovative choreography and love of both dance and children. Adele began dancing at the age of 12 in Great Britain and after many years of competing Adele completed her O-level certification in Ballet and her Early Childhood Education Certificate. Adele worked professionally for the Blaze Feature Dancers before moving to Canada and taking her teaching certificates at an associate and membership level with the British Association of Teachers of Dancing. Adele has taught in and around the GTA developing and implementing dance programs for both private and public school boards. She has been a member of Sue’s Dance Centre’s faculty since 2001, training students in the competitive and recreational programs and developing student teachers. 

Rebecca Silia A.B.A.T.D., BA (Hons), AAC1, PAA

 Rebecca Silia danced competitively for 12 years and studied in acro, jazz hip-hop, lyrical/contemporary, musical theatre and ballet. Rebecca has completed her British Association of Teachers of Dancing associate level and received a highly commended mark of 96%. Rebecca has also recently completed her Acrobatic Arts Module 1 certification and her Professional Adjudicators Alliance course. Rebecca has earned many 1st place and overall awards throughout her years of dancing including two full bursaries in the intermediate and senior category with the York Region Celebration of the Arts for her acro solo in the years of 2008 and 2009. Rebecca recently completed her Bachelor Of Arts Honours at York University. Dance has always been a passion for Rebecca and she is very happy to be able to pass on her love of dance to others. Rebecca is thrilled to be teaching at Sue's Dance Centre and looks forward to an exciting and successful year to come! 

Natalie Silia AAC1

 Natalie Silia danced competitively for 15 years and studied in acrobatics, jazz, hip-hop, tap, musical theatre, lyrical, contemporary, ballet and pointe. She is currently furthering her education at York University pursuing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and her Bachelor of Education. Natalie has recently been accepted into Canada's National Ballet School Teacher Training Program. She also completed her Acrobatic Arts Module 1 certification. Natalie has received many 1st place and overall awards throughout her dancing career including winning Highest Mark of the Competition with her Acro solo and winning the title of Senior Miss Dance Champion 2016. She has also attained her Intermediate Foundations and Intermediate R.A.D Ballet Level Exams. Natalie will be performing for the OTF Sick Kids Gala again in September 2017, here she will be performing with professional dancers such as; Jordan Clark, Jennie Pappas, Derek Piquette, Mitchell Jackson and many more. She is thrilled to have this opportunity to dance professionally for a great cause. Natalie is also working towards her British Association of Teachers of Dancing Certificate and her R.A.D teachers certification. Natalie is very passionate about her dancing and she is very excited to be a teacher at Sue’s Dance Centre where she cannot wait to pass on her love of dance to others.  

Bianca Jones A.B.A.T.D.

 Bianca has been dancing since the age of 4. During her years of training she received many awards and scholarships, dancing across Canada and the US. She is a graduate of the Cawthra Park Secondary School of the Arts and has worked and trained with highly sought after choreographers and instructors. Professional performances include chorus dancer for Latin Singer “Shanti”, Raptors Cheerleader for 3 years, participant in many charity events, choreographer for Raptors half time shows and an NBA event in Dalian, China. Bianca is an associate member of The British Association Of Teachers Of Dance. An award winning and valuable member of our team, Bianca believes dance is her life and sharing her passion with her students is extremely rewarding.
